Maximus Terminal (“Maximus”) is a native SSH, tmux, and mosh client for iPhone, iPad, and Android. It is made by Serious Engineering. This page covers the apps andmaximus-terminal.com.

We do not run your sessions

Maximus connects from your device to hosts you name. Session traffic, terminal output, and keystrokes go between you and those hosts over SSH or mosh. We do not operate a relay for that traffic and we do not receive the contents of your sessions.

What stays on your device

Host profiles, usernames, optional saved passwords, and private keys live on the device. Secrets are stored with the platform keystore (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore). We do not require an account, and we do not sync that material to Serious Engineering.

If a remote program asks to copy text to the system clipboard (for example OSC 52), Maximus asks first unless you have already allowed it for that host. Clipboard contents are not sent to us.

Diagnostic logs may be written locally. They are not uploaded unless you export them yourself. We design those logs not to include passwords, passphrases, or session keys.

What we do not collect

The apps do not include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash SDKs. There is no in-app account, no mailing list inside the client, and we do not sell personal information.

Apple, Google, and this website

When you install from the App Store or Google Play, Apple and Google process whatever their own policies require (purchases, crash and performance reports, device identifiers they already handle). That processing is theirs, not ours.

This website is static. We do not set our own cookies. Pages load webfonts from Google Fonts, which is a Google service and subject to Google’s privacy policy.

Children

Maximus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
